The annual Connacht Hurling Poc Fada Finals was held recently with success for Galway hurlers in both the adult and U16 competitions.

Rachel is an All Ireland Champion with this year's Galway Minor Team scoring 2 goals and 8 points on the day, Galway's top scorer and received the player of the match award!

The annual Connacht Hurling Poc Fada was held recently with success for Galway hurlers in both the adult and U16 competitions.

Kinvara's Colm Callanan followed his Galway title by claiming the Connacht title. He will now go forward to represent his club, county, and province in the annual National Puc Fada finals. Carnmore's Paddy O'Connell had also some great pucs as he came in third place. Roscommon's Gerry Fallon pipped Paddy for second place.

2009 Champion Gerry Fallon (Oran) has qualified for the All-Ireland Poc Fada Championships by finishing as runner-up in the Connacht Finals

In the U16 competiton, again Kinvara's Ronan Kilkelly and Killimordaly's Brian Burke battled in out for the top two places. This time it was a reverse of the Galway competition as Ronan Kilkelly won to claim the Connacht title.
