Thursday 11th July 2013 Update
Eoin Reilly of Laois has won the Leinster Poc Fada Final in St. Mullins, Carlow last evening with Offaly's two times winner and course record holder in the Under 16 All Ireland Championship Cillian Kiely in second place having made the move up to the Senior competition - an "Exceptional achievement"!
Eoin was the Leinster 2010 Champion and competed on Anneverna Mountain in the All Ireland Final where he finished a very credible 7th.
We foresee a very exciting All Ireland Poc Fada Championship Final ahead on the August Bank Holiday Saturday - 3rd of August!
How safe is Brendan Cummins who will be attempting to equal Ger Cunningham of Cork's all time record of 7 All Ireland Poc Fada titles as defending champion given the arrival of Cillian Kiely in the Seniors' competition?
In the Under 16 Leinster Poc Fada Provincial Finals competition it was disappionting to note the absense of Dublin and Kilkenny competitors - why was there no county competiitons held or at least a representative sent to compete?
Looking at the scores below its interesting to note the closeness of the scores between the Seniors and Under 16s - there's a cluster or over lap of final scores that would suggest the Road Course is non representative of the least number of pocs/pucks it should take to complete a Poc Fada course.
