The Connacht Poc Fada Final for Senior Hurling was always going to be an intriguing Provincial Final with four previous All Ireland Poc Fada competitors going head to head for the Connacht honours.

James Skehill - Cappataggle, Galway captured the Connacht GAA Poc Fada title with Jerry Fallon the 2009 All Ireland Champion - Oran Hurling Club, Roscommon in second place. Last year's Connacht Champion Colm Callanan of Kinvara, Galway who finished 4th in the 2012 All Ireland Final came home in third place.

In 2010 Jerry Fallon the then defending All Ireland Champion competed on the Annaverna Course against the two 2010 Connacht qualifiers - James Skehill and Donal O'Brien of Mayo. In fact, James and Jerry were paired in the All Ireland Final for the "Comórtas Beirte" competition and went on to win the Pairs competition! No doubt the Connacht Duo will stand a very good chance of repeating that win come August. James Skehill finished third in 2010 with Jerry unable to retain his 2009 title finishing fifth with Donal O'Brien coming home in eleventh.

Jack Coyne- Castlegar GAA Club, Galway takes the Boys Under 16 title.

Catriona Daly the Connacht Camogie Poc Fada Champion 2013In Camogie, Galway and the Mullagh Camogie Club continue to dominate the Ladies' Provincial Finals with Catriona Daly of Mullagh, winning the Camogie title. Roscommon's Kelley Hopkins and Fiona Connell both of the Athleague Camogie Club were joint runners up.

Rachel Monaghan, the 2011 & 2012 Connacht Camogie Poc Fada Champion who finished third last year and second in 2011 in the All Ireland Camogie Poc Fada Finals is also from the Mullagh Camogie Club in Galway.
